The King Kekaulike High School and Kamehameha Maui girls soccer teams both registered wins on Wednesday, the first day of the Maui Interscholastic League season.

Na Alii and the Warriors have finished 1-2 in the league the last three seasons before the 2021 season was scrapped due to COVID-19 concerns.
At Olinda, Na Alii started their title defense with a 9-0 win over Seabury Hall.
At Kanaiaupuni Stadium in Pukalani, Kamehameha Maui got two goals apiece from Madisun Gouyetes, Jael Kapuaala and Kamalei Kealoha in a 10-0 victory over Lahainaluna.
Ui Kaaihue scored three consecutive first-half goals for King Kekaulike, which led 6-0 at halftime. Madelyn Dougherty scored Na Alii’s first two goals of the game, and Journey Andaya added two second-half goals. Tori Zackious and Soana Akinaka also scored for King Kekaulike.
Sienna Kamalani, Kalia Lanoza, Isabella Ayau and Hokuala English also scored for the Warriors, who led 7-0 at halftime.
The match between Baldwin and Maui High, scheduled for Wednesday evening at War Memorial Stadium, was postponed.
