News Tech: Linux 6.0-rc2 is the most recent weekly test candidate for this upcoming significant kernel version, and it was just made public by Linus Torvalds.
Even though the merge window has closed, Linux 6.0-rc2 still contains a lot of fixes from users and developers that tried out the test kernel. Along with the improvements that were released this week, NTFS3 file-system driver updates were also withdrawn for 6.0-rc2.
The release of Linux 6.0, which will have a host of new hardware support features, kernel innovations, and other interesting updates, is anticipated for early October.
