News Tech: The JBL Tune Flex True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earphones went on sale in India on Tuesday. The company markets itself as the world’s first transformable TWS earbuds, offering the ability to convert different types of earbuds into open or closed ear designs by swapping them out. It’s called “Sound Fit”. The earbuds have his six modes of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), offer hands-free voice control, and he’s IPX4 certified for water resistance. The JBL Tune Flex is priced at Rs 6,999 in India. They are available in black options at Flipkart and JBL.com.
There’s also a Smart Ambient feature that allows noise to permeate the headphones for better awareness of your surroundings. Users can further fiddle with the audio output via the JBL Headphones app. The earbuds also come with a total of 4 microphones for a crisp and clear call experience. The JBL Tune Flex earbuds are said to offer up to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge with ANC off. With ANC on, the earbuds can play for up to 6 hours. The case offers an additional 24 hours of battery life.
JBL Tune Flex SpecsThe JBL Tune Flex TWS earphones are powered by 12mm drivers and feature JBL Pure Bass Sound and JBL Sound Fit. JBL Sound Fit is a way to open or close the earbud design. It features an open earbud design that allows for a more natural perception. However, if you want better noise cancellation, you can add a pair of sealing tips to essentially reduce ambient noise. JBL Tune Flex TWS earbuds are equipped with ANC in addition to the sealed tip.
That means the total battery life for these earbuds is about 32 hours. According to JBL, the headphones can provide up to two hours of playback on a 10-minute charge.
