News Tech: Overwatch 2 has revealed the latest addition to its roster of heroes, Kiriko. Blizzard Entertainment has released a gameplay trailer highlighting Kit and his ultimate ability to summon a spirit fox named Kitsune. Overwatch 2 will release on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One and PC on October 4th. Kiriko is a support character that blurs the line between DPS and healer, much like Baptiste at launch. Having trained with the Shimada brothers, she has the ability to climb walls and move quickly and agilely. Her main healing ability is a healing charm that throws large amounts of holy talismans to restore the health of her teammates.
However, flexible players can change the odds in their favor by clicking continuously on the enemy’s head. In tense situations, Kiriko can throw a sacred bell that grants her and allies within range temporar invulnerability.Think of it like Baptiste’s immortality field. However, here the effect is instantaneous and requires perfect timing. You can also save your own skins as needed, toggle teleportation on and off, or dodge locations and call on your allies for cover.
Like most support her characters in Overwatch 2, players don’t need to have top-notch aiming and tracking skills. Because Kiriko’s charm can be easily fixed on the target. This allows Wrecking He to easily maneuver fast-paced, unpredictable characters such as Ball, Genji, and Mercy. Kiriko’s secondary ability is a kunai her blade that can deal damage to incoming enemies. Note that although a hitscan weapon, she does less damage compared to other damage heroes as she is a healer.
However, Kiriko’s strongest ability is Kitsune Rush, which summons a ghostly fox, clutching a ninja scroll in its jaws, and lighting up the paths of the ghostly torii gates. Mates gain significant speed bonuses, including faster movement, weapon reload speed, and cooldowns. There is currently no word on how long this ability will last. With Overwatch 2, Blizzard is ditching the loot box system and introducing the Battle Pass. Kiriko will join the roster at launch, along with new tank heroes Junker Queen and damage type Sojourn. Users of the original 2016 Overwatch will have free access to Chirico for use in online PvP matches.
