News Politics: There are three Democratic candidates hoping to win the opportunity to unseat current Florida Attorney General Ashely Moody during the general election in November.
Former Orange and Osceola County State Attorney Aramis Ayala says she is big on public safety, and growing Florida’s economy and constitutional protections, among other things.
Aramis Ayala, Jim Lewis and Daniel Uhlfelder are all on the ballot hoping to advance past Tuesday’s primary election, and ultimately become Florida’s next Attorney General.
“It’s all about our constitutional rights — we want to be free, we want to be heard and we want to exist, and there are laws in the foundation of our Constitution that gives us access to that freedom, and the Attorney General is the one who is supposed to stand up and speak for the people and ensure that we are free and to speak,” Ayala said.
“I’m going to take on Florida Power and Light, and utilities that are jacking up your rates,” he said. “We are going to take on the homeowner insurance companies that are raising rates unfairly … we are going to take on companies that are unfairly jacking up your rental rates and we are going to protect reproductive rights.”
