Stevens Point PD is temporarily closing the lobby due to COVID | concerns News

The COVID-19 related issues caused a lack of available staff to monitor the records bureau as well as the lobby inside of the police department.

Story Highlights:

  • Right now there is no timeline on when the records bureau will reopen, but Police Chief Tom Zenner told News 9 the temporary closure is in part due to concerns of COVID-19 among staff members.

  • However, Chief Zenner said the lobby will be open for use of the prescription drug drop-off box. Residents will just need to use the intercom system to have an officer grant access.

There may be delays with open records requests or any other public inquiries at this time.
