The Lions give the Lumberjills a heartbreaking loss

News Sports: It was a hard-fought game Monday night as the University of Finlandia women’s ice hockey team lost to Northland 3-0 (6-1) at the Bay Area Civic Center.

On 2/3, Northland took the lead with his 2:44. FinnU had some strong scoring chances, but they were blocked. The Lumbergils scored with 6:03 remaining in the third and an insurance goal in the first minute of the final third.

Finlandia nearly scored their first goal when student Mikaela Powers saved a shot in the final minute with 3:04. Sophomore Rainie Pasemko kept the Lions in the game with some great saves.

The Lion Defense got away with 14 blocks. Pasemko finished with 50 saves.
