Early this week, Arsenal hopes to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City.
The agreement is still being discussed, and there is growing optimism that it will be closed soon.
According to estimates, the transfer fee for the international player from Ukraine will total somewhere around £30 million, and there shouldn’t be any issues with personal terms.
Zinchenko joined Man City as a teenager from the Russian team Ufa, and has now been a member for just over six years.
Arsenal have been in the market for a left-sided defender and were trying to sign Manchester United bound Lisandro Martinez from Ajax.
The 25-year-old, who was coached by Mikel Arteta during the Arsenal manager’s spell as assistant to Man City boss Pep Guardiola, can cover a variety of positions, including left-back and central midfield.
The 23-year-old enjoyed a hugely successful first season in the Premier League after joining from Getafe in a deal worth around £15m last summer.
Brighton do not want to let Cucurella leave and it would take a huge offer for them to sell given he has four years remaining on his contract at the Amex.
