Rumors: The release of AMD’s Zen 4-based Ryzen 7000 CPUs is quickly approaching. There are rumours that all SKUs, including the Ryzen 5 7600X, Ryzen 7 7700X, and Ryzen 9 7900X, will deliver considerable performance gains over their forerunners. We now have our first accurate picture of the Ryzen 7 courtesy to a user on the AnandTech forums. On August 29, AMD is expected to formally introduce the Ryzen 7000 “Raphael” processors. But the leaks are still coming out in droves. Thanks to user Cortexa99, we now have our first actual photograph of a Ryzen 7 7700X CPU.
For the uninitiated, the Ryzen 7 7700X is reportedly an 8-core, 16-thread Zen 4 part with a base clock of 4.5 GHz, and a boost clock of up to 5.4 GHz. The CPU has an alleged TDP of 105 W. The Zen 4 processor is rumored to cost US$299, the same as its predecessor. The newly leaked picture of the Ryzen 7 7700X displays a laser engraved AMD logo, the SKU name, and 100-000000593 OPN code. Based on the text on the CPU, SkyJuice suggests that the chip pictured is a non-retail sample. It may even be a review sample that AMD sent out to the media ahead of the launch.
