He said the Carle proposal was the only one the city received after it had requested bids for the property. The city came into possession of the land in exchange for road construction.

Story Highlights:

  • City Administrator Drew Hoel said Carle expects to close on the city-owned property in three months.

  • “We anticipate we’ll do a redevelopment agreement with them,” Hoel said. “We haven’t worked out all of those … terms.”

The Carle purchase for $287,000 will encompass about 6.5 acres.

Hoel said the existing medical clinic has four to six exam rooms, while the new one will be equipped with 16 exam rooms.

The new single-story clinic will replace an existing smaller one located at the intersection of U.S. 36 and Egyptian Trail.

It will have space for eight providers, two treatment rooms and an outpatient lab and imaging space. Also included will be support spaces that include offices, receiving, a waiting room, telecommunications and an IT data room.

A walking path will be available on the property that will be open to Carle staff and the community.
