News Tech: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed on Wednesday the need for India to become independent. Speaking about ‘Aatmanirbhar Arthvyavastha’ at a BJP event, he said the possibility of a new post-Covid world order is looming, and the first signs of it are already visible. A big change is imminent in the world’s view of India, he said. “People around the world want to see an empowered and strong India. It is imperative that we move the country forward quickly and strengthen the country in several areas,” Modi said.

The prime minister said the government plans to provide training to youths in border villages through the National Cadet Corps and help them join the army. The budget envisages his 2,500km natural farming corridor along the banks of the Ganges, he said. Modi claimed that the budget has made the sport so important that he has tripled it in the last few years. He said soon every village will have fiber optic connections and 5G technology will usher in a new era.

It is very important not only for India to become self-reliant, but for it to build a modern India on the basis of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’. Apart from the political aspect, the budget was welcomed on all fronts, he noted.
The budget is focused on providing basic amenities to the poor, middle class and young, he said, adding that his government is working to saturate basic amenities. Modi also said migration from border villages is not good for national security and the budget includes provisions to develop “living villages” on the border.
The Vibrant Village Program will benefit border villages in Uttarakhand, Arunachal and Pradesh, Ladakh, he said.

As for the agricultural sector, much has been said about the Minimum Support Price (MSP), but the farmer said he is expected to receive more than Rs 1.5 crore as his MSP for rice this season.
