Ankur Jain is appointed as the new CFO of AvantStay

News Tech: Ankur Jain has been appointed as financial director at AvantStay, the top hospitality platform revolutionising short-term rentals for how people travel and invest today. In addition to his previous positions as CFO of Better Place Forests (BPF), CFO and founding team member of Mynd, and Vice President of Finance at Starwood Waypoint Residential Trust (now Invitation Homes), where he took the company public, Jain joins AvantStay as an experienced finance and startup executive. The biggest single-family residential REIT in the world is Invitation Homes.

According to Jain, “AvantStay is at a critical juncture in its development, and I’m impressed by the team and all the basic components that they’ve already set in place to enable them to rise swiftly as a leader in the sector.” “With the drive to institutionalise short-term rentals as an asset class, short-term rentals will be the fastest expanding category of real estate in the next years. It reminds me of the thrilling early days of single family residential when we were creating the playbook ourselves.”

Jain will oversee the finance staff at AvantStay in his new position as head of accounting, financial planning, strategic finance, and finance operations. This will help the company develop and become more profitable as it gets older. Along with the other members of the AvantStay management team, Jain will help the company maintain its position as a pioneer in the short-term rental sector.

Jain was the CFO of BPF prior to joining AvantStay, where he worked to establish and promote financial discipline as well as raise money to grow the company. Ankur served as the CFO and a part of the founding team of Mynd before it was acquired by BPF. Mynd provided real estate technology to the $85 billion+ property management and real estate investment markets. He led the development of Mynd’s internal accounting system, raised multiple rounds of funding for the company, and provided advice on the acquisition of local property managers, helping Mynd develop into the largest tech-enabled single family residential property management company in the nation with more than 10,000 homes.
