The Hawaii State Public Library System said that an employee at the library tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday and “out of an abundance of caution” the library will be cleaned.
The Hana Public and School Library is temporarily closed for thorough cleaning and is anticipated to re-open on Thursday.
All public library staff are required to wear their masks, practice social distancing and proper hand sanitizing practices. High-touch areas are disinfected as recommended by federal and state guidance, according to a news release. Face masks are still required while inside public libraries and limited capacity is monitored.
HSPLS “digital doors” are always open at librarieshawaii.org.
