In this article, we’ll show you how Use DISM to repair local image in Windows 11. As users know, DISM is a very useful command tool in all versions of Windows to fix system errors such as missing or corrupted files. Since some people don’t know much about this tool, MiniTool Solution decided to introduce DISM first; then it will show you how to use DISM in Windows 11 and how to fix DISM problems.

In Windows 11, Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) is an advanced built-in tool that you can use from the command line to prepare, modify, and repair system images. However, you can also use it in conjunction with the System File Checker (SFC) tool to troubleshoot system issues. Usually, when you’re dealing with a problem like a performance issue, a specific error, or a startup problem, you can run the SFC tool to replace corrupted or missing system files. However, if these files are also corrupted, the repair will not work. In this case, you can use the DISM tool to restore the local image to a healthy state, and then use the SFC command to repair the settings.

In addition, you can use the System File Checker command-line tool to scan and replace missing or damaged system files with a recovery image when you need to fix a specific error, find out why your device is no longer booting properly, or fix performance issues. The SFC command does not work if one or more Windows 11 files in the image are corrupted. In that case, you can repair the image with DISM and then use the SFC tool to repair the settings without having to reinstall Windows from scratch. Before proceeding, we recommend you to update your Windows 11 Pc. In this article, we will talk about using DISM to repair a local image in Windows 11.
